Food Desensitizing Treatments in Charlotte
Food Desensitizing Treatments in Charlotte
Dr. Maeve O’Connor and the team at Allergy Asthma and Immunology Relief (AAIR) report they are the only board-certified allergists in the area offering food desensitization (Oral Immunotherapy aka “OIT”) treatments at its three Charlotte locations. They have successfully given previously food-allergic patients the ability to safely enjoy peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, milk, eggs and sesame—to eat more items instead of being restricted to a diet free of their allergens.
Remaining on the cutting edge, AAIR is trailblazing allergy care in Charlotte as patients of all ages that previously had to avoid foods and even social activities due to life-threatening food allergies are now able to enjoy a full diet like birthday cakes, taking plane trips without fear of nuts and being free from the fears that food allergies can create.
O’Connor attests she is the only board-certified allergist in the region to have completed the Integrative Medicine Fellowship. She’s also board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy Immunology.
