In late October, Birmingham-based Organic Harvest Community Grocery & Cafe opened its highly anticipated location in Charlotte at 1330 Central Avenue where Healthy Home Market previously operated. The store in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood is the company’s first outside of Birmingham and brings with it a reputation for knowledgeable and helpful employees and high-quality products that meet strict company standards for ingredients.

The new location features locally sourced produce, natural meats, groceries, supplements, bulk goods and a full-service cafe. The original store location, which opened in 2005, was named the best grocery store in Alabama by Readers Digest, saying, in part, “The selection of healthy groceries is vast so you’ll definitely work up an appetite roaming the aisles.”

Organic Harvest aspires to open many more stores throughout the Southeast. Additional Charlotte locations will be considered and two new locations are already being built in Birmingham. Ultimately, the new store is intended to fulfill the company mission of providing customers with the best shopping experience by offering the best products, unequalled service and helpful resources that support healthier and happier lives.
