Ahlara Creates The Brotherhood
Joyce Marie Sheldon, community liaison for Ahlara, created the Ahlara Sisterhood in 2017 as a spin-off of International Women’s Day celebrated worldwide. “After almost two years of these wonderful gatherings of women,” she says, “it was time to include men in the awakening taking place in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area and around the world. It’s exciting to participate in the offering of these special events at Ahlara!”
When she met Ty Ryan, the creator of That Loving Space, a mission drawn from his own life experiences, she knew he was the right person to facilitate the Brotherhood. Now he is devoted to helping men cope with life’s challenges and emotional pitfalls.
While the Ahlara Sisterhood donates its $10 registration fees to supporting the educational needs of young girls in Nepal via Himalayan Hands, a nonprofit established by Ahlara owner, Lynne Wiggins, the Brotherhood will donate their registration fees to the same nonprofit, but direct the funds toward digging for wells in Nepal for fresh water for remote villages.
Ahlara continues to provide the area with quality workshops, classes and special events, and offers spa services of exceptional quality by devoted professionals. Boutique at Ahlara offers fashion-forward apparel for women plus accessories, skin care products, essential oils and gift items. Ahlara’s Crystal Center remains one of the most prestigious in the area with new arrivals each week.
