Traveling? Pack Probiotics
Millions of people contract diarrheal diseases every year, and with the summer travel season just around the corner, it’s good to know that probiotics given as therapies for diarrhea can bring fast relief. After reviewing the findings of 63 trials involving a total of 8,014 patients, researchers with the School of Medicine at Swansea University, UK, concluded that taking such probiotics, or “good bacteria,” decisively helps. Results showed that using the probiotics reduced the duration of the illness and lessened the frequency of episodes continuing for more than four days.
