Unprocessed Trauma and Trapped Emotions May Cause Physical Problems
by R. Elizabeth Scarborough
Much of our suffering is due to negative emotional energies and traumatic experiences that have become trapped within us, and it’s most likely trapped in the body’s fascia, a system of connective tissue that surrounds every tissue and organ of the body, including nerves, vessels, muscle and bone. When there are restrictions in the fascial system, the body is unable to function effectively.Myofascial release is a simple, effective, hands-on method of finding and releasing trapped energies which often manifest as fascial restrictions. John F. Barnes, the founder of the Myofascial Release Technique (MFR), wrote, “MFR structurally and energetically opens and rehydrates the human fascial system of liquid light for the coherent flow of frequency, vibration, information and organization necessary for health and quality of life. The vibrational resonance and the resulting liquidation of the tissue is what I call a ‘release’. These releases of tissue, emotions and hidden information create the environment for change in line with the wisdom of the client’s own body.”
Many people repress the memories of painful past events, thinking that they won’t have to deal with them. However, the opposite is true and they are dealing with these unprocessed events every minute of every day. The body will only put up with it for so long before it starts to send distress signals. If that message is ignored, the body will send a stronger message often in the form of aches, pain or anxiety. If that message continues to be ignored, the body will send an even stronger message, perhaps in the form of disease or major dysfunction. We can cover up these warning signals with drugs, but they will still be there. It is vital that we address these events head-on in a safe environment to avoid the ramifications of the low vibrations of this trapped energy.
It is well known that vibrational frequency affects our physical state. Fascial restrictions lower vibration. Before long, that lower vibration will cause nearby tissues to also vibrate at that same frequency. We call this resonance. Lower vibrations can distort tissues, blocking the flow of energy preventing the normal function of organs, glands and muscle.
