Nurse Marlin, RN, BSN, MSN, CNS, on Avoiding Back-To-School Infections
Sep 02, 2023 10:24AM ● By Nurse MarlinI've seen an uptick in infections lately, and here are some suggestions on what to do daily to avoid:
1. Boost your immune system (white blood cells).
- Drink spring water - 10% of your body weight or 8-10 cups per day
- Eat 2/3 plate of raw, green fruits and vegetables
- Sleep 8-10 hours in quiet, peaceful and safe place
- Use essential oils by mouth, diffused in air or massaged on back, arms or feet
- Take chewable multivitamin, Omega-3, oregano, melaleuca, rosemary, cloves, lavender (follow directions on bottle or your doctors guidance)
- Drink immune/detox tea versus caffeine
2. Avoid closed in, dark, crowded places such as elevators, concerts, plays, indoor movies
3. Wear masks
4. Wash hands frequently - after touching anything and coughing. Cough into elbow rather than hands)
5. Change clothes and bathe daily in Epsom/Mediterranean Sea Salt
6. Use personal items only. Don't use borrowed things without cleaning first
7. Change/disinfect with "botanical" spray (ex. furnace filters for 3-5 days when have infection, dishes, bed linens, shoes, etc.)
8. Take out garbage daily turning bag away from your face when closing
9. Increase sunlight exposure - go outside
10. Decrease stress: TV, computers, weegee boards, smoke, hard rock, negative books, and people
11. Avoid pesticides, herbicides, hair spray, unneeded/unprescribed over the counter medications or pharmaceuticals, chlorine
12. Detox liver cleanse, oil pull/swish
