Jessica Peach, Massage Therapist and Medical Reiki Master, and owner of British Massage & Wellness Center, in Charlotte, will lead a Reiki Share from 1 to 4 p.m. on September 22 and on every third Sunday on an ongoing basis except for next month which will be on October 27. The sessions, for reiki practitioners and anyone else interested in it, will explore what the modality is and allow participants to share and experience its healing power.

“Healing is extremely important to all of us, especially if we are going through any surgery or particular disease or emotional issues at the time,” says Peach, who has been a massage therapist for 22 years and graduated from Southeastern Massage School. “One of my clients asked me to send reiki to her grandson who needed a heart transplant. Our collective sent healing energy and within a week, he received a heart at Novant in Matthews and is currently in good health. Group reiki is powerful and is what is needed now. 

A National Institute of Health study found reiki effective for inducing a physically relaxed state.

Peach, originally from London, has lived in Charlotte for over 30 years and has been practicing reiki for 26 years.
