Kings Mountain Preserve Open Hikes
Kings Mountain Preserve, a newly opened 38-acre nature preserve cemetery and the only green burial offering in the Charlotte area, is hosting their inaugural annual Hike for the Holidays from 2 to 4 p.m., December 19, and 2 to 4 p.m., January 9. Participants will get some fresh air, exercise and learn about why the Kings Mountain Preserve is unique in the nation when it comes to conserving our environment.
The hike begins at the pavilion with a quick introduction of the preserve, followed by a leisurely and easy one-mile hike highlighting unique areas throughout the 38 acres. It concludes with hot cocoa by the outdoor fireplace at the retreat center. Social distance guidelines will be adhered to.
Kings Mountain Preserve is one of only two conservation burial ground and funeral home combinations in the country and the only one on the East Coast. The Retreat Center not only hosts funerals but also weddings, meetings and retreats. Owners Terry and Reverend Amanda Robertson own Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service in Charlotte. Pastoral services are available.
Admission is free with RSVP to 877-375-2495 or [email protected]. Location: 321 Indian Springs Rd., Blacksburg, SC. For more information, visit KingsMountainPreserve.com.
